The Columbus Blue Jackets are looking to move Marian Gaborik before the 2014 NHL trade deadline but are going to have difficulty moving him because he is often injured.
The 31 year old right winger earns $7.5 million per season and is about to become an unrestricted free agent. With only 5 goals in 17 games played, Gaborik is on pace for 22 goals. He has lost his goal scoring touch and is no longer able to put up the 40+ goal seasons that he produced three times in his career.
The Blue Jackets are near the salary cap and GM Jarmo Kekalainen has no intention of resigning Gaborik. The Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers are having trade discussions with the Columbus Blue Jackets about Marian Gaborik.
