Phil Kessel to Nashville Predators

nhl trade rumors 2015 toronto maple leafs

Trade rumors surround Maple Leafs Phil Kessel for the 2015 NHL season. The Leafs have 10 regulation losses in their last 13 games and are sitting at 10th place in the Eastern Conference. Randy Carlyle was fired recently and Peter Horachek took over behind the bench. The coaching change has made no difference.

Former Leafs coach Ron Wilson said the core players are difficult to coach. Toronto media asked Kessel if he is difficult to coach and Kessel appeared annoyed with the media. The 27 year old right winger is having a great season with 43 points in 44 games played. Leafs GM Dave Nonis is contemplating to trade his star player because his value is high.

The Nashville Predators sit atop the Western Conference and are looking to make key additions as they get ready to contend for the Stanley Cup. Preds GM David Poile did a recent interview where he talked about how good he thought Kessel was. He said he did not understand why so many people were down on Kessel because he was great for Team USA at the Sochi Olympics and is a great American player. Poile likes Kessel but is he willing to trade Seth Jones or Roman Josi?
