Rumor: Petr Mrazek to the Calgary Flames

As I look at the Calgary Flames this season, I see a team that has seemingly solved it's goaltending situation that it has had since the departure of Miikka Kipprusoff. Mike Smith is doing an excellent job as their starting goalie this season, but how long can the 35-year old play starting minutes? The Flames may still need to find a longer-term solution for their goaltender of the future.

One solution might be Petr Mrazek. The 25-year old has struggled this season, posting a 3.78 GAA and a .885 save percentage, but bear in mind the team in front of him isn't doing him any favors. He is a restricted free agent on July 1st, and it seems the Red Wings still prefer to have Jimmy Howard play the majority of the time.

The Red Wings would likely want a decent prospect and a pick for Mrazek, so perhaps Sam Bennett and a 2nd round pick could bring Mrazek to Calgary.
