Blackhawks Sign Spencer Knight To Extension
As had been expected, the Chicago Blackhawks have locked up another key piece of their future, signing young goaltender Spencer Knight to a three-year extension with a cap hit of $5.83 million.
Knight came to Chicago in a trade with the Florida Panthers this past March in exchange for defenseman Seth Jones. The 24-year-old goalie is a highly promising netminder and a former first-round pick.Chicago's Knight in shining armor. 🙅♂️

The new $17.5 million deal kicks in for the 2026-27 season, as he finishes off his three-year deal this year with a $4.5 million AAV.
Last season, Knight was 17-16-3 with a 2.72 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage in 38 games (26 starts) split between the Panthers and Blackhawks.
Spencer Knight now locked in for Blackhawks for next 4 seasons
"After joining the team in March, Spencer quickly cemented himself as a crucial piece of our future," Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson said. "A talented, young goaltender, he brings athleticism, sound positioning and a calm demeanor to his game, and we're excited to watch Spencer continue to flourish in Chicago over the next four seasons."
Knight was the 13th overall pick by Florida in the 2019 NHL Draft. He has compiled a 49-33-9 record in 95 regular-season games (85 starts), with a 2.83 GAA, .904 Sv% and five shutouts.
