Report: Vancouver Canucks Making Trade Offers
The Vancouver Canucks are gearing up for the 2025-26 season, but that doesn't mean their roster is anywhere close to a finished product. Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin have been busy trying to keep their core together through the summer, and now, have reportedly turn their attention to adding a middle-six forward via trade.
According to The Fourth Period, the Canucks have actively been trying to upgrade their forward group, and so far, no luck.
The Vancouver Canucks are believed to be looking for a middle-six forward to add to their roster due to winger Nils Hoglander missing the next eight-to-ten weeks because of an injury. Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has been exploring options, according to separate league sources, but it is unclear if a move is imminent.
Any addition would likely bolster the club’s third-line, as Vancouver’s top-six seems to be set with Elias Pettersson centering Jake DeBrusk and Brock Boeser, and Filip Chytil anchoring the second line in between Evander Kane and Conor Garland. The Canucks have reportedly been linked to Chicago Blackhawks winger Lukas Reichel, who has a $1.2 million cap hit, as have the Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks.
The Canucks have cap space, and they have both their first and second-round picks at the 2026 NHL Draft. Their prospect pool isn't loaded with talent, but there's some appealing options to other teams including Aatu Raty, Arshdeep Bains, and Riley Patterson.
Keep an eye on the Canucks after the rosters are finalized on Monday, depending on how some teams shake up, they could try and pounce on a deal before the start of the season.
