3 Offseason Trade Destinations for Rangers' Alexis Lafreniere
The New York Rangers kicked off their retool by trading multiple players this season. Artemi Panarin, Carson Soucy, Sam Carrick, and Brennan Othmann were all traded by the Rangers this season, and more players could be on the move this summer.
Alexis Lafreniere is one Rangers player who has come up in the rumor mill for several seasons now. While he has been heating up down the stretch, the possibility of him being dealt during the summer should not be ruled out. Due to this, let's look at three teams that could target him if he is made available.
Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks should be on the hunt for at least one top-six winger this offseason, as Connor Bedard could use more help. Lafreniere could make a lot of sense for them as a target, as at just 24 years old, he could be a strong fit for a Blackhawks club that is on the rise.
Vancouver Canucks
While the Canucks have started a rebuild this season, they could be a good fit for Lafreniere. With Lafreniere still being young and locked up until the end of the 2031-32, he could be a long-term part of Vancouver's core as they look to get things back on track.
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens have long been connected to Lafreniere, so they could be a team to keep an eye on when it comes to the Rangers winger. The Canadiens could use another skilled forward in their top six, and Lafreniere would provide them with an interesting one.
