4 Potential Landing Spots for Brady Tkachuk Offseason Trade

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk has been the biggest name to hit the trade rumor mill in quite sometime, as several insiders have mentioned they've heard he's checked out on Ottawa. Whether that's fact or fiction remains to be seen, however, there's no doubt opposing GM's are going to be calling the Sens this summer with a wide variety of trade offers.

Tkachuk has two years remaining on his current contract and is eligible to sign a contract extension in July, so if there's no deal announced, expect to see the rumors take off throughout the summer. The Sens captain ears $8.2 million against the cap and owns a full no-movement clause, so he certainly controls his own destiny.

As far as trade destinations go, there's several teams that make some level of sense, including the Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, New Jersey Devils, and Minnesota Wild. The Panthers and Devils will be the toughest given they're in the Eastern Conference and the last thing the Senators want to do is keep Tkachuk in their conference, however, considering his no-movement clause, they'd have no choice.

Tkachuk is also very close to the Hughes' brothers, and with the Devils and Wild both set for aggressive summers trying to upgrade up front, they certainly make the list. The Blues have ties to the Tkachuk family and they have Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou, who they are dangling in trade talks this offseason, so there's certainly a potential partner there.

What do you think? Does Tkachuk stay, or ask out? Let us know in the comments.
