NHL Rumors: 3 Calgary Flames Offseason Trade Candidates

Blake Coleman, Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames were one of the NHL's biggest sellers this season, as they traded Rasmus Andersson (Vegas Golden Knights) MacKenzie Weegar (Utah Mammoth), and Nazem Kadri (Colorado Avalanche). However, with the Flames being in a rebuild, it would not be particularly surprising if they ended up trading more players during the offseason.

Because of this, let's look at three Flames who could be on the move during the 2026 NHL offseason.

Blake Coleman

Coleman will undoubtedly be a trade candidate to watch during this offseason. The veteran forward was one of the NHL's top trade candidates leading up to the deadline, but Calgary ended up hanging onto him. However, he will likely generate interest yet again this offseason, as he is exactly the kind of hard-nosed forward that contenders love to bring in.

Zach Whitecloud

Whitecloud could end up being a prime trade chip for the Flames to dangle this summer. There is no question that the playoff teams are always on the hunt for steady right-shot defensemen, and Whitecloud fits that description. His contract also adds to his appeal, as he has an affordable $2.75 million cap hit until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Morgan Frost

Frost is entering the final season of his contract in 2026-27 and will be a pending unrestricted free agent. If the Flames do not view the 26-year-old center as a long-term part of their plans, he could end up being a player they move for the right price. In 74 games this season with Calgary, he has 18 goals and 38 points.
