BREAKING: Canadiens Acquire Dale Weise from Philadelphia

We have another trade to announce, as the Canadiens bring back a familiar face.
The Montreal Canadiens have acquired Dale Weise and Christian Folin from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Byron Froese and David Schlemko.

Weise will be returning to the Canadiens after being traded away in 2016 to the Chicago Blackhawks. In 152 games with the Flyers, he has scored 17 goals and 34 points over 3 seasons.

Christian Folin has had a difficult time establishing himself on an NHL team. The Canadiens will be his 4th NHL team during the 28-year old's 209-game career. He has scored 7 goals and 38 points over his career with Minnesota, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.

Heading back the other way is 31-year old David Schlemko. Since being acquired by the Canadiens shortly after the Las Vegas expansion draft, he has been plagued by several injuries and ultimately lost his place in the NHL.  He has scored 18 goals and 94 points over his 415 career games.

The last piece in the deal is 27-year old Byron Froese. He has spent the majority of his career in the AHL, only suiting up for 110 games, scoring 5 goals and 11 assists in that time.
