NHL Rumors: Penguins Forward Likely On The Move

The Pittsburgh Penguins have several key players who need new contracts. Due to this, they will have to let some players go, and Kasperi Kapanen will likely be one of them.

Kapanen just had a rough year with the Penguins and saw his role on the team decrease because of it. In 79 games, he had just 11 goals and 32 points. That is low for his standards, as he just had 30 points in only 40 games during the 2021-22 campaign. With him having a down season and players like Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang needing new deals, the 25-year-old has likely played his last game as a Penguin.

Kapanen is a pending RFA, so the Penguins do have control over his rights. Thus, they can trade him during the offseason without much trouble. Let's see where the winger ends up from here.
