Red Wings Sign Forward

The Red Wings have signed Chase Pearson to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $917,831 cap hit.

Pearson suited up in his first three NHL games this season but failed to get on the scoresheet. In 50 AHL games with the Grand Rapids Griffins, he scored seven goals and had 18 points. This was a notable drop in production, as the 24-year-old forward recorded 22 points in only 28 games the season before. Thus, he will be aiming to bounce back in 2022-23.

Pearson will be competing for a spot in Detroit's bottom six this upcoming season. At worst, he will continue to be a solid AHL forward for them.
