Columbus Blue Jackets Sign Defenseman to Extension

The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Andrew Peeke to a three-year contract extension. Starting in 2023-24, the 24-year-old will carry a $2.75 million cap hit.

Peeke cemented himself a permanent spot in Columbus' top six last season. He appeared in all 82 games, where he set new career-highs with two goals, 13 assists, and 15 points. With that, he had an impressive 191 hits, so it's clear he was a major factor physically.

The Blue Jackets clearly have a lot of faith in Peeke when looking at this contract. It will be intriguing to see how he performs from here.
