Carolina Hurricanes Call Up Forward

After clearing waivers, Jordan Martinook has been called back up to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Martinook's placement on waivers was a salary cap move, but now they have made room by placing Jake Gardiner on LTIR. Now, the alternate captain will once again be a key part of the Carolina' leadership and should once again play fourth-line minutes.

Martinook played in 59 games this past season with the Hurricanes, where he had six goals to go along with nine assists. Given his recent waiver placement, it will be intriguing to see how he responds to it. Who knows? Maybe it'll be the spark that helps him record another 25-point season like he had in 2018-19. Either way, he should continue to be an effective agitator for the Canes.
