Columbus Blue Jackets Place 2 Players on Waivers

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed Gavin Bayreuther and Trey Fix-Wolansky on waivers.

Bayreuther appeared in 43 games last season with the Blue Jackets, where he had eight assists and an even rating. Overall, the New Hampshire native certainly is a serviceable depth defenseman to have, so it doesn't seem too out of the question to see him get claimed off waivers.

Fix-Wolansky could also get some interest around the league. The 23-year-old just played in his first six NHL games with Columbus last season, where he had a goal and an assist. He also recorded a 33-point campaign in 53 games with the Cleveland Monsters, so all in all, it was a solid year for him. Let's see if that is enough for him to get claimed.
