Oilers Rumors: Puljujarvi Linked to Eastern Conference Team

Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi could use a change of scenery. The Oilers have made it known that they are willing to move the 2016 first-round pick, and he's a player to keep an eye on at the 2023 Trade Deadline because of it. According to Frank Seravalli, one potential landing spot for Puljujarvi is the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers have had an underwhelming 2022-23 season, so they are likely going to make some changes to their group before the deadline. Their playoff hopes are still alive, but it is clear that changes are necessary if they hope to play postseason hockey. Thus, they are in a position to take a chance on Puljujarvi.

When noting that Puljujarvi has had past success in the NHL, perhaps being moved to the Panthers could get him right back on track. This move would only make sense for Florida if the Oilers retain salary, but at the end of the day, he could be a nice addition to their middle six. Alas, let's see if a move goes down centering around him from here.
