Vegas Golden Knights Rumors: Blues Defenseman Becoming Possible Target

The St. Louis Blues have started their fire sale, and now more moves could be on the way. Torey Krug has emerged as a prime trade candidate because of this, and now rumors are swirling over the possibility of him being moved. In a recent piece, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman brought up the prospect of Krug being dealt to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights have cap space to work with due to Mark Stone being out, so they are in a position to take Krug in. Their left side could use a boost, and Krug would provide it with just that due to his strong offensive production from the point. With this, he also would stand out as a prime option for their power play unit if acquired.

Friedman noted that Krug could also be willing to waive his no-trade clause to play there because of his past connection with head coach Bruce Cassidy. With that, the Golden Knights are contenders, so it is likely that Krug would not hate the idea of playing there. Alas, we will need to wait and see if Krug becomes a Golden Knight from here.
