Predators Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates

The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.

In this latest installment of the series, the Nashville Predators will be the team of focus.

Alexandre Carrier: Alexandre Carrier created some chatter in the rumor mill leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, but the Predators decided to keep him. When noting that he is a solid bottom-pairing defenseman who kills penalties and provides some offense, the Predators could certainly look to keep him around beyond this season.

Jason Zucker: The Predators acquired Jason Zucker at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. When playing at his best, he is a strong middle-six forward who provides solid secondary scoring and some grit to go along with it. If he heats up over the final portion of the season, they certainly could look to sign him to an extension.

Kiefer Sherwood: Kiefer Sherwood has been a great fit in the Predators' lineup since his arrival. This is because he gives them quality depth scoring. Because of this, the Predators could look to sign him to a new deal instead of losing him through free agency.
