3 Potential Trade Destinations for Ducks Trevor Zegras

There is growing speculation surrounding the Anaheim Ducks that they will be entertaining trade offers this upcoming offseason on Trevor Zegras. The same Zegras who was once felt to be the new face of the franchise.

Unfortunately, in a season littered with injuries and not meeting expectations, Zegras now finds himself rumored to be on the trade market and there's no doubt, even though he's only produced nine points in 25 this season, the 23-year-old will have some interest from onlooking teams. Here's three teams who could be involved in the Zegras sweepstakes this summer:

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens are loaded with trade assets and a GM who is going to be aggressive this summer. Zegras and Cole Caufield are best buddies, so there could be some seamless chemistry created should they join forces in Montreal. Alex Newhook could be someone who interests the Ducks, which would help the Habs out to balance the books a little, to add Zegras and his $5.75 million AAV the next two seasons. The Canadiens own the Winnipeg Jets' first-rounder at the upcoming draft, which will be a mid-20's pick, this could also be in play.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Kyle Dubas is no stranger to bold moves and if the Ducks move Zegras, it's likely to the Eastern Conference. The Penguins have the cap space, they just may have their hands tied a little bit on the prospects/draft capital to get a deal done. Goalie prospect Joel Blomqvist has burst onto the scene, but isn't necessarily on the block, meanwhile the prospects Dubas got from the Carolina Hurricanes in the Jake Guentzel trade could be in play. Pierre-Olivier Joseph is a young defenseman who could interest the Ducks. Certainly two teams to watch this upcoming offseason.

Columbus Blue Jackets

One things for sure, the Blue Jackets are putting every and anything on the table this summer. The organization is looking to re-tool on the fly and aside from a few of their young stars, everyone is available. The Ducks will want young NHL ready talent in any Zegras deal and the Blue Jackets won't be interested in moving out any of their draft picks. Two teams expected to be very active this summer, could find a way to do some business together with Zegras smack dab in the middle of it all.
