Kraken Acquire Bobby McMann From Maple Leafs

A wild turn of events for Bobby McMann on Friday afternoon.

After being involved in swirling trade rumors for weeks, the Toronto Maple Leafs were reportedly finalizing a trade to send Bobby McMann to the Colorado Avalanche, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period and Frank Seravalli.

However, in a last-minute stunning update, McMann is now headed to the Seattle Kraken, according to Elliotte Friedman.

The return is reportedly a 2027 second-round pick and a fourth-round pick in 2026.

McMann has quietly become a very effective depth power forward in the league over the past few seasons. Across 200 NHL games, he has produced 54 goals and 91 points while delivering 379 hits, averaging 13:44 of ice time per night

His previous career high in goals and points is 20 and 34, which he set last year in 74 games, so he'll easily surpass that this season, as he has 19 goals and 32 points, thus far.

His blend of physicality, speed, and scoring has made him a really appealing target for contenders searching for middle-six help.

At just $1.35 million against the cap, McMann offers tremendous value for a team like the Kraken that is trying to get into the playoffs and strengthen its forward depth without taking on heavy salary commitments.

The Kraken are currently in the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference right now, sitting three points up on the San Jose Sharks.
