3 Minnesota Wild Offseason Center Targets

Vincent Trocheck, New York Rangers

The Minnesota Wild are in their win-now window and could look to make more big moves during the offseason because of it. The biggest roster need that they should be looking to address during the summer is a top-six center.

Because of this, let's take a look at three centers who the Wild should make a push for during the offseason.

Robert Thomas, St. Louis Blues

With the Wild in need of a star center in their top six, it would not be shocking if they kicked tires on Thomas this summer. He would give the Wild a long-term answer for their first-line center spot, as he has a $8.125 million cap hit until the end of the 2030-31 season. Thomas, who has 21 goals and 56 points in 58 games this season, is also right in his prime at 26 years old. Thus, he would be a perfect addition to Minnesota's roster, but the Wild would need to pay a lot to get him. This is especially so with the Blues being in Minnesota's division.

Vincent Trocheck, New York Rangers

The Wild were one of the teams heavily linked to Trocheck leading up to the deadline. While Trocheck's preference is to stay in the Eastern Conference, the Wild should continue to kick tires on him during the summer. Trocheck has a history with Wild GM Bill Guerin and would be a perfect addition to Minnesota's top six if acquired. In 63 games this season, he has 16 goals, 36 assists, and 52 points.

Charlie Coyle, Columbus Blue Jackets

If Coyle hits the free agent market this summer, the Wild should try to reunite with him. At 34 years old, Coyle is still a high-impact center, and his stats this season show this. In 77 games for the Blue Jackets this campaign, he has recorded 18 goals, 38 assists, 56 points, and 100 hits. With numbers like these, he would be a nice pickup for the Wild's second-line center spot.
