3 Offseason Trade Destinations for Devils' Simon Nemec

Simon Nemec, New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Devils defenseman Simon Nemec was one of the most notable trade candidates leading up to the 2026 NHL trade deadline. The Devils ended up holding onto him, but he will certainly be a player to keep an eye on this summer.

Due to this, let's take a look at three teams that could look to acquire Nemec if the Devils shop him this offseason.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators undoubtedly need to improve the right side of their blueline this offseason. Because of this, it would not be surprising if they made a push for Nemec during the summer. He would give their top four a major boost if acquired and could be a much-needed long-term answer for the right side of their defense.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins could be another team to keep an eye on when it comes to Nemec. One of their biggest needs is another impactful right-shot defenseman, which is why they pushed hard for Rasmus Andersson before the Calgary Flames traded him to the Vegas Golden Knights. Furthermore, with the Bruins being a team looking for young talent, Nemec could be an amazing fit on their roster.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens looked to bring in another right-shot defenseman ahead of the deadline, so it would not be surprising if they tried to again this offseason. With the Canadiens being an exciting young team entering its win-now window, bringing in a young star like Nemec would make a lot of sense for them.
