3 Edmonton Oilers Who Won't Be Back Next Season

The Edmonton Oilers were outmatched by the Anaheim Ducks in six games, and after going to the Stanley Cup Final two years in a row, the Oil are out in the first round.

There's going to be significant changes to the roster this offseason, as Stan Bowman has no choice but to shuffle things up, or else Connor McDavid is going to demand out, and the ship will then sink. Bowman made several moves throughout the regular season, but unfortunately, wasn't able to address the areas of the team that stood out the most.

Yes, Kris Knoblauch is on thin ice and there's certainly a chance he's fired this summer, but for now, let's zone in on the roster and showcase three Oilers who won't be back next season:

Tristan Jarry

Jarry's arrival in Edmonton had everything to make up a home-town feel-good story, but unfortauntely his return didn't go well at all. Jarry couldn't hold down the starter's crease, he had run ins with teammates in and after practice, and when his team needed him the most, he wasn't able to stand up tall. Jarry's going to be traded this summer, as the Oilers need a complete reset on defense, and in goal. Jarry has two seasons left on his deal at $5.3 million AAV, and owns a 12 team no-trade clause.

Connor Ingram

Expect to see Bowman move on from Ingram too, as this first-round series was a tell-tale sign that the team's goaltender wasn't good enough. Enough with the waiver wire pickups and shot-in-the dark trades. The Oilers need a goaltender in his prime, loaded with potential, and Ingram isn't it. There's an outside shot he comes back on a one-year deal as the backup, but don't be surprised to see two new goalies in Edmonton next season.

Darnell Nurse

Six playoff games, no points, despite playing over 23 minutes a night. It's time for a change of scenery for Nurse, who hasn't been able to live up to expectations in Edmonton. Nurse has four more years left at over $9 million AAV, and does own a no-movement clause, but that doesn't mean a trade won't materialize this offseason.
