Marc-Andre Fleury Linked To Massive Trade

The Vegas Golden Knights arguably have the best goalie tandem in the NHL between Robin Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury has won 3 Stanley Cups and has been to the Stanley Cup Finals five times. There's not much else for him to accomplish, but he still has some A+ hockey to offer and a backup role won't suffice. He's now linked to trade rumors that would send him across the country.

NHL reporter Jimmy Murphy has unearthed some compelling information that indicates Fleury is on the way out of Vegas. He states that an NHL scout is his source for the information, but the source refused to confirm whether or not an offer has already been made. Although there are barriers to completing a deal, such as the term remaining on Fleury's contract and the value of his contract ($7 million), the Sabres don't exactly have a firm #1 between Linus Ullmark and Carter Hutton.

The Buffalo Sabres are reported to be interested in acquiring Fleury. The details of the acquisition have not been released, but it would seem that Vegas would need to retain a significant portion of his contract with a number of picks and or prospects to be exchanged in return.
