Report: Jack Eichel Trade Almost Completed

Buffalo Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams' phone has been blowing up and the main reason is likely the trade interest in Jack Eichel. According to reports from Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic, talks are intense at the moment and it sounds like aggressive offers are being discussed.

All the teams that we've linked to Eichel were confirmed by LeBrun. Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers were all named. The Blue Jackets have three first round picks this draft and have a very good chance of landing the 24-year-old center. It's not often you get a chance to acquire a player like Eichel in his prime, signed for another five seasons, teams are going to overpay, neck injury or not.

While Elliotte Friedman reported the Kings aren't very interested, the Rangers have been interested for over a year. The wild card team here is the Ducks. They see Eichel as the perfect replacement for Ryan Getzlaf's first-line minutes. Be curious to see if they decide to include one of the top prospects to get the deal done.

Sabres management have some serious work to do this summer, some very important times for the franchise. If Adams is able to hit on the three big trades he's expected to make this offseason, including Eichel and his teammates Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Ristolainen, Buffalo's not going to be irrelevant for long. As for Eichel, it won't be long before his address changes.
