Video: Kraken Defenseman Vince Dunn Scores First Ever Goal At Climate Pledge Arena

The Seattle Kraken played their first game at Climate Pledge Arena Saturday night. Although it resulted in a 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, it will forever be a historic night for the franchise.

For the arena's first ever goal, Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn took a very hard wrist shot from the point and beat Vancouver goaltender Thatcher Demko off the crossbar.

Dunn is certainly a key player for the Kraken. The 24-year-old defenseman was selected from the St. Louis Blues at the Expansion Draft over winger Vladimir Tarasenko. In four games so far with the Kraken, Dunn has a goal and two assists. That's not a bad start offensively for him.

His nice shot also allows him to put the puck in the net from the backend pretty well. During the 2018-19 season with the Blues, he scored 12 goals and had 23 assists in 78 games. The Kraken would love to him see put up totals like that for them. When seeing as how he has a prominent role with the team, it seems rather probable that he will.

Nonetheless, this is another historic goal for the Kraken. Make sure to remember it for hockey trivia night.
