Report: Bruce Cassidy not interested in coaching Toronto Maple Leafs

Bruce Cassidy is looking for work after being fired by the Vegas Golden Knights. However, if one team offers him a coaching position this summer, reports are he's likely going to hold off, and look elsewhere.

Insert the Toronto Maple Leafs. A team that has limited direction at the moment and is in search of a new general manager, after Brad Treliving was recently fired. There's speculation brewing that CEO Keith Pelley is also going to let Craig Berube go at the end of the season, and if there's a vacant head coaching role in Toronto, you figure that the organization would have a ton of interest in Cassidy.

According to TSN's Darren Dreger, Cassidy would be interested in coaching next season in the NHL, it just won't be in Toronto.

Darren Dreger: If you're Bruce Cassidy, chances are you're gonna have multiple options, I doubt very much that the Maple Leafs are going to be top of list for Cassidy - Barn Burner (4/1)
In four seasons coaching in Vegas, Cassidy produced a 178-99-43 record in 320 regular-season games, finishing with two 50-win seasons, and breaking the 110-point mark twice. In 2023, he led the team to its first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history, and it's crazy to think, with just a couple of weeks left in this season, the team decided it needed a new voice and brought in John Tortorella.

Don't expect to see Cassidy out of work for very long, and two teams to keep an eye on this summer include the New Jersey Devils and Edmonton Oilers.
