Vancouver Canucks Coach Hopeful Fans Remain Supportive

Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green has yet to lose confidence in his group. Despite the team's recent struggles, Green feels the fan base needs to stick behind them as he prepares his club to turn things around.

Vancouver lost once again on Sunday night, 5-1 to the Anaheim Ducks and now sit 5-9-2 on the season. The Canucks can't seem to find the back of the net and the team has the league's fifth-worst goal differential (-14), and they have been outscored 22-8 during their four-game losing streak. Green met with the media after the game and had this to say:
I can understand that. Things haven't gone the way we wanted them to, but I will say I'm confident our team will turn it around. I think our penalty kill is going to have to help get us going. I think it will come around. I know our power play will score. I know we have some players that will produce, they've produced before. I know getting some of our defensemen back will also help our game. But I do think we have to play better, I'm not saying we don't. We gotta get back to playing a direct, 200-foot game

A big key for the Canucks turnaround is going to be their special teams. They are worst in the league when it comes to killing penalties and their power-play is only converting on 15.3% of the time.

The Canucks now prep for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche and if they keep losing, the person losing confidence may be the general manager in the coach.
