NHL Rumors: Calgary Flames to Bring Back Forward

According to Eric Francis, the Calgary Flames are "closing in" on signing Brett Ritchie to a one-year contract.
This news comes a few days after there were rumblings that the Edmonton Oilers were considering the prospect of signing Ritchie to a PTO. Yet, the 6-foot-4 winger will be returning to the other side of the Battle of Alberta rivalry with Calgary.

Ritchie has spent each of the last two seasons as a Flame, where he has recorded 12 points in 73 games. Overall, he has worked well as a decent depth forward option, so it isn't too surprising to see Calgary bring him back.

This signing is the second move that the Flames made on Monday, as they also inked Sonny Milano to PTO earlier on in the day. Let's see if GM Brad Treliving has another trick up his sleeve.
