Columbus Blue Jackets Star Done for the Year

The Columbus Blue Jackets' 2022-23 season has been a complete and utter disaster. Even after winning the Johnny Gaudreau sweepstakes, they have a 4-9-0 record and are tied with the St. Louis Blues for the least amount of points in the NHL. Now, they been dealt awful injury news, as the club has announced that Zach Werenski will miss the rest of the season due to a separated shoulder and torn labrum.

This is just horrible for a Blue Jackets team that is desperately trying to get their season back on track. An already-massive obstacle has heightened immensely with Werenski's year being done, as he is their best defenseman by a country mile.

Although Columbus has been bad this year, Werenski has still made a difference. In 13 games on the year, he has three goals and eight points, but that is, unfortunately, where his stats will end. Here's to hoping that Werenski's recovery goes smoothly and that he will be better than ever in 2023-24.
