Devils Rumors: 3 Players Linked to Trades to New Jersey

New Jersey Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald is looking to be aggressive before the trade deadline as his young team has finally started to produce results. As GMTF put it recent, 'now the fun begins' as the Devils will look to add pieces before March 3. Here's a few players who have been linked to a deal with the Devils:

Timo Meier, San Jose Sharks

Target number one for New Jersey, Sharks forward Timo Meier checks off just about every box for the team and that doesn't include how he's close friends with team captain Nico Hischier. Meier is under team control for the foreseeable future and he's one of the best power forwards in the game. He's going to cost at least one first-round pick and a top prospect, but is certainly worth the price.

Brock Boeser, Vancouver Canucks

Another scoring winger who has term left on his contract, Canucks forward Brock Boeser has been on the Devils' radar for several months, dating back to the NHL draft. Boeser's agent continues to work the phones looking for a landing spot and it does sound like a deal could go down weeks before the March 3 trade deadline. Boeser's goal scoring is down this season, but most of the Canucks are having mediocre seasons and he could easily find his 25-30 goal touch with a change of scenery.

Pavel Buchnevich, St Louis Blues

While he's on the shelve at the moment, Pavel Buchnevich is expected back before the trade deadline and is in play for the Blues. The 27-year-old has two seasons left on his deal at $5.8 million and could fetch the Blues a solid return. The Devils have interest and would love to add his skill and physical play. 'Buch' has recorded 38 points in 38 games this season and is never shy to play an in your face style of play. The Devils will be one of the many teams to make offers on the Blues forward.
