NHL Rumors: 3 Goalies Being Discussed in Trades

The NHL trade market is wide open at the moment as Bo Horvat sent shockwaves throughout the league earlier this week. More big moves are expected and this includes the likelihood of some goaltenders being moved before March 3. It's rare to see starting netminders traded before the deadline, however this season expect to see a couple of goalies changing teams.

Joonas Korpisalo, Columbus Blue Jackets

The 28-year-old netminder is having a bad season on a struggling team and it may be time to accept a change of scenery. The Blue Jackets are looking to cash in on some pending free agents and Korpisalo is one of them. He's making $1.8 million against the cap and will be one of the cheaper, fall-back options for general managers around the league looking for some more depth in their crease.

Thatcher Demko, Vancouver Canucks

While no trade has been requested, some feel Demko, among others aren't necessarily happy in Vancouver and how things have shaped up this season. There's a ton of interest if Demko is in play including from the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres and LA Kings. Demko is currently nursing an injury and is expected back in a couple of weeks.

John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks are looking to move out several players and give themselves a better chance at drafting Connor Bedard. Gibson's name has come up in the past, however some feel he's closer than ever to being dealt. The Sabres, Penguins and Kings are all looking for a long-term solution in net, and there also could be interest from the Ottawa Senators. Gibson is signed through the 2026-27 season and holds a 10-team modified no-trade clause. He may accept a move to LA or the Penguins, however the Sens and Sabres are likely on this Ducks no fly zone.
