3 Detroit Red Wings Trade Candidates As Retool Continues

Steve Yzerman is out, but that doesn't mean there won't be significant changes to the Detroit Red Wings roster. While a search for a new general manager continues, once named, expect to see multiple moves ahead of next season.

Here's three Red Wings that you can include on your trade radar:

Dylan Larkin

Easy one first as this is low-hanging fruit. Larkin and Yzerman didn't see eye to eye, but that doesn't mean Larkin is rescinding his trade offer. The Red Wings' captain wants out, and after multiple failed trade attempts for Yzerman, Larkin's now someone else's problem. The Dallas Stars were willing to swap Jason Robertson, but Detroit wouldn't pull the trigger without a long-term extension in place. Now, keep an eye on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Alex DeBrincat

Patrick Kane heads back to Chicago, and while Larkin has formally asked out, that isn't the case for Alex DeBrincat. However, the prolific goal-scoring winger is in the final season of his contract and isn't interested hanging around for a rebuild. DeBrincat can fetch a ton in return and give the Red Wings a top draft pick and prospect in return. The 28-year-old has one year left on his deal at $7.8 million AAV, and owns a 16-team no-trade list.

Justin Faulk

The veteran offensive defenseman was dealt from the St. Louis Blues last season and will play top-four minutes for the Red Wings this season. Faulk has slowed down with age, but he can still run a power play, and give you second-pair minutes. Faulk's a pending unrestricted free agent earning $6.5 million AAV, and owns a 15-team no-trade list. Expect to see Faulk moved at some point in the next nine months.
