Ottawa Senators Rumors: 2 Trade Destinations for Cam Talbot

The Ottawa Senators have disappointed this season after there was a ton of hype after a busy offseason. General manager Pierre Dorion tried to add enough talent to get the Sens back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, however the team currently sits among the bottom feeders in the Eastern Conference and will look to make a deal or two before the March 3 trade deadline. Goaltender Cam Talbot has emerged as a potential trade chip and here's three potential trade destinations:

Pittsburgh Penguins

Word is the Penguins aren't satisfied with Casey DeSmith as Tristan Jarry's backup heading into the stretch run this season. Both goalies have a history of injury concern and recently Jarry's been shelved with a lower-body injury and is slowly making his way back to the lineup. Look for the Penguins to make an offer for Talbot as he's a pending free agent and won't cost a ton to acquire. Even with Talbot battling a recent lower-body injury, the Penguins are likely going to still be interested.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils are not thrilled with the development of Mackenzie Blackwood and could look to acquire some more depth behind starter Vitek Vanecek. Talbot fits the bill as a steady veteran who's been around the block and these two teams could certainly pull something off before the deadline as the Devils are going to be aggressive and have trade assets to burn.

Talbot is on the books for $3.6 million this season and is a pending unrestricted free agent who doesn't have any trade protection. If a team has their starting goaltender go down with injury before March 3, look for Talbot's name to emerge as a potential replacement.
