Jonathan Huberdeau Is Done For the Season for Flames
Ironically, it was one of his best games in quite some time. But last night's contest will be the last of the season for Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau. He has been struggling with a hip injury, and will now undergo season-ending surgery.

Jonathan Huberdeau scored the first goal in Calgary's 4-3 victory over Edmonton.
That will be his final game of the 2025-26 season. Huberdeau needs hip surgery, but wanted one final game for the Flames -- and made an impact.
Huberdeau went out with a bang, scoring the game's first goal in a big 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday night.
He finishes the season with 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points in 50 games. He had a -9 rating, and logged an average of 18:08 minutes of ice time per night. It's a big step back from his strong 2024-25 season, in which he was one of the team's best two-way forwards and recorded his best season in a Flames uniform with 28 goals and 62 points. But the significant hip issue obviously played into his struggles this season.
Huberdeau still has five seasons remaining on the eight-year, $84 milliion extension he signed with the Flames after they landed him in the 2022 blockbuster trade for Matthew Tkachuk.
In his four years in Calgary, Huberdeau, 32, has 194 points in 294 games, a big dropoff from the point-per-game pace he established in his final few seasons with the Florida Panthers.
