J.S. Giguere Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2011 NHL season.  The Maple Leafs are out of the playoff picture and recently acquired Joffrey Lupul from the Anaheim Ducks in return for Francois Beauchemin. Phil Kessel has gone through long scoring slumps, and has publicly asked for a change.

GM Burke has not made progress with the team since taking over as general manager.  He expected more from his players and is looking to shake up his roster more.  J.S. Giguere is in the last year of his contract that pays him $7 million.  Giguere has struggled mightily with a .898 save percentage and a 2.88 goals against average.

It appears AHL goalie, James Reimer has taken over the starting goaltender position.  Burke would like to move free agent Giguere before the trade deadline.
