2011 Alexander Semin Trade Rumors

The latest trade rumors surround the Washington Capitals and their left winger Alexander Semin for the 2011-2012 NHL season. Semin who is 27 years old is over a point per game player when healthy during the regular season. But he has no success in the playoffs and the Capitals want to become a better playoff team.

With the signing of Troy Brouwer, the Capitals are over the salary cap and have to move a contract. Semin is being payed $6.8 million for the last year of his contract. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2012 and is being shopped.

The Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs are making offers for Alexander Semin.
