Luke Schenn Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Toronto Maple Leafs and their 21 year old defenceman, Luke Schenn for the 2011-2012 NHL season. It took until the first day of training camp for the Leafs to lock up the promising young defenceman to a 5 year deal, with a $3.5 million annual cap hit.

Schenn was the fifth overall pick of the 2008 draft and is gradually developing into a shutdown blueliner. It appears this season he has suffered setbacks. He has not been able to develop an offensive side or a first good breakout pass to his game. As well, the defensive side of his game has faultered.

The Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers and Minnesota Wild are interested in trading for Luke Schenn.
