Roberto Luongo Trade Rumors

Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks could be traded this summer. The goaltender has struggled in the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs and backup Cory Schneider has taken over the starting role. Luongo has a contract until 2021-2022 with a cap hit of $5.33 million dollars a year. He also has a no-trade clause, which he is willing to waive rather than lose his starting role to Schneider.

Luongo is a restricted free agent (RFA) this summer and GM Mike Gillis is going to shop him to teams such as the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning, which are in desperate need of a starting goaltender.
