NHL Trade Rumors: Evander Kane Wants Out of Winnipeg

Evander Kane of the Winnipeg Jets is the subject of trade rumors as he becomes a restricted free agent for the 2012-2013 NHL offseason. The 20 year old had a career year with 30 goals and 27 assists and continues to improve. His contract was worth a cap hit of $3.1 million.

Kane has faced much adversity his first three seasons in the NHL. He was drafted by a bottom dwelling Atlanta Thrashers team, which had no fans. Last season, he was forced to migrate to the frigid climate of Winnipeg to play for the Jets when the team relocated. 

Kane's falling out with his team early in his career is troubling to other GMs in the league. Still, many teams seek a young, talented player who plays with a physical edge. Look for the Winnipeg Jets to trade Evander Kane if they are unable to negotiate a new contract.
