Kyle Clifford of the LA Kings is soon to be traded to the Montreal Canadiens, according to inside sources. Clifford is a restricted free agent coming off a $870K cap hit contract. With 7 goals and 7 assists last season in 48 games, the left winger is looking for a raise in the neighborhood of $2 million per season.

Clifford is only 22 years old and is improving every season. He is a big body that threw 155 hits last season. He is best suited for a team's third or fourth line. The LA Kings have $2 million in cap space and are unable to come to terms with Clifford.

The Habs are undersized at the forward position and are seeking big forwards to protect their small players. A trade is close to being finalized between the LA Kings and the Montreal Canadiens - Kyle Clifford for a 2nd round draft pick.
