With star NHLers holding out for July 1st free agency, the 2014 NHL trade deadline is going to be the most memorable in years. General Managers are looking to unload their upcoming unrestricted free agents and receive assets in return. The Montreal Canadiens are attempting to move Andrei Markov.

Markov is a power play specialist who has played his whole career for the Habs. He is a 35 year old reliable defenseman with an injury history. If he makes it to free agency, teams are going to offer him a lucrative deal. GM Marc Bergevin is aware time is running out and offered a one year contract at $6.25 million and Markov turned it down. He is looking for a 4 year term at $5.75 million per year.

The New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers are interested in acquiring Andrei Markov from the Montreal Canadiens.
