PA Parenteau to Pittsburgh Penguins

The Colorado Avalanche are attempting to move PA Parenteau before the March 5, 2014 NHL trade deadline. Parenteau, who is 30 years old, has 25 points in 41 games played this season. He has 2 years left on his annual cap hit contract of $4 million. He is an effective second line right winger; yet coach Patrick Roy has healthy scratched him for two games straight.

Roy said that he does not have a roster spot for Parenteau because the top two lines are full and PA does not fit a fourth line role. There are reports that the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins are in a bidding war over PA. The Habs are offering PK Subban and the Penguins are offering Kris Letang in return for PA Parenteau plus draft picks.

I highly doubt the Canadiens are willing to part with Norris winning defenceman, PK Subban. Kris Letang is more likely to be traded because he has a huge cap hit, has been injured many times and has been in trade speculation this season.
