Michael Dal Colle - Projected #5
The 2014 NHL Entry Draft will be held on June 27–28, 2014 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Here are my top #5-8 NHL Mock Draft Projections:
5) Michael Dal Colle
Ht: 6' 2" Wt: 179 lbs
Position: C/LW
Team: Oshawa (OHL)
Reasoning: The New York Islanders select DalColle who has height and skill. The Islanders are hoping they draft a left winger who is skilled enough to finish alongside John Tavares.
6) William Nylander
Ht: 5' 11" Wt: 175 lbs
Position:C/LW
Team: Sodertalje (SWE)
Reasoning: The Vancouver Canucks select Nylander who is the son of former NHL player, Michael Nylander. He is projected as a highly skilled forward and his 16 point performance at the World Juniors U18s was outstanding.
7) Jake Virtanen
Ht: 6' 1" Wt: 190 lbs
Position: C/LW
Team: Calgary (WHL)
Reasoning: The Carolina Hurricanes select Virtanen who is a great skater with size. He is outright dominant at times and is projected to be a top line forward.
8) Nick Ritchie
Ht: 6' 2" Wt: 230 lbs
Position: RW
Team: Peterborough (OHL)
Reasoning: The Toronto Maple Leafs select Ritchie who is one of the biggest prospects in the draft. Although Toronto needs a center, they cannot pass on the best player available. Nick is the brother of Dallas Stars' Brett Ritchie.
