Andrej Sekera to LA Kings, Dallas Stars

The Carolina Hurricanes plan to move Andrej Sekera before the March 2, 2015 NHL Trade Deadline. The 28 year old left shooting defenseman had a career season in 2013-14, with 44 points in 74 games. He is signed to a $2.75 million cap hit contract, which is about to expire when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in July.

Sekera is looking for a multiyear contract in the $4-5 million annual range. He is the most sought after defenseman now that Tyler Myers and Cody Franson have been moved. The LA Kings and Dallas Stars are two teams, which are looking to upgrade their blueline. With the addition of a solid two way defenseman like Andrej Sekera, the Kings and Stars have better chances of securing a wild card playoff spot.
