The Edmonton Oilers Hired a Coveted Head Coach

The Edmonton Oilers hired a coveted head coach, Todd McLellan. McLellan who is 47 years old, spent the past seven seasons as the head coach of the San Jose Sharks.

A former Mike Babcock assistant coach in Detroit, he has a coaching record of 311-163-66 with the Sharks, including three division titles. McLellan coached Team Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Championship to its first gold medal since 2007.




The Edmonton Oilers made key additions as of late with the hire of former Boston Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli. With the first overall selection of the 2015 NHL Draft, the Oilers will add Connor McDavid.
