The San Jose Sharks Hired a Coach

san jose sharks hire coach peter deboer

The San Jose Sharks found their head coach for the 2015-16 NHL season. The Sharks hired Peter DeBoer, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun, and will make the announcement on Thursday.

DeBoer was fired by the New Jersey Devils on December 2014 after his team got off to a 12-17-7 start. He got the Devils to the Stanley Cup final in his first season, but failed to get them back the next two seasons. He started his NHL coaching career in 2008 with the Florida Panthers, which he coached for 3 seasons.

DeBoer will replace Todd McLellan, who split with the San Jose Sharks after seven seasons. McLellan was hired recently by the Edmonton Oilers.

Do you think DeBoer is a good fit for the San Jose Sharks?
