Daniel Briere announces retirement


Gatineau native, Daniel Briere, took deep thought on where his hockey career is going and after a lot of thought he has announced on Monday morning in his column published in Le Droit.

I played my last game in the National Hockey League. The time has come for me to announce my retirement, he wrote.

The player was drafted in 1996 by the Phoenix Coyotes. He played 973 matches in 18 seasons in the NHL. He also played with the Colorado Avalanche, Philadelphia Flyers, Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres. Also played for the Berlin Polar Bears of the DEL.
