Monster Trade Rumor Out of Colorado

Trade rumors surround Matt Duchene of the Colorado Avalanche. According to Elliotte Friendman, there is "no doubt [the Avalanche] have tested the market on Duchene." It's rumored Duchene initiated a trade request.

The 24 year old center is signed to a contract with an average annual value of $6 million for three more seasons. Although he started the season slow, he picked up his scoring pace with 7 goals and 4 assists in 16 games.

The Ottawa Senators need a top six forward and are offering a defenseman and draft pick in return for Matt Duchene.
