evander kane sex offence investigation

Buffalo Sabres Evander Kane is the subject of a sex offence investigation. Citing three law enforcement sources, The Buffalo News reports police are probing an incident that allegedly occurred at a downtown hotel near Buffalo's First Niagara Center Sunday morning.

No charges have been filed against Kane, who was absent from Sabres practice on Sunday for "personal reasons." Law enforcement officials would confirm only that there is an ongoing investigation by officers from the department’s Sex Offense Squad. The Sabres issued the following statement on Sunday afternoon.

We take the allegation made today against Evander Kane very seriously. We are gathering facts and have been in touch with the NHL and Evander’s representatives. Until we have more information we will not have any additional comment.

Kane is being represented by Paul J. Cambria, the lawyer who served as Patrick Kane’s representative during an investigation into sexual assault allegations.
