Video: Dan Hamhuis out indefinitely with facial fractures

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis sustained a facial fracture when he took a shot to the face during a game Wednesday against the New York Rangers and will have surgery Friday, the Canucks announced Thursday.

There is no timeline for his return.

Hamhuis was helped off the ice at 12:27 of the third period of the Canucks' 2-1 win after being hit by a shot by New York defenseman Dan Boyle. Hamhuis went to the locker room, didn't return to the game and left Rogers Arena in an ambulance.
